The effect of a systematically developed Ballet Pilates exercise program was experimentally tested with purposefully 118 female sample university students under one-group pretest posttest condition. The subjects were pre-tested with a selective physical fitness tests along with the preceived health condition test and had a seventy-minutes ballet pilates exercise program once a week for 15 cinsecutive weeks, followed by a posttest. Analyses of pre- and posttest results indicated significant positive changes in all (but the sit-up measure) physical fitness measures along with the perceived health condition test. The results were discussed in relation to those of various previous research data. It is suggested that future research focus on testing the specific effect of ballet-pilates exercise program in relation to its scope of applicability with different kinds and levels of subjects to enhance its external validity.
