Exploring the selection factors and needs of kindergartens and daycare centers for parents of 3-year-old infants: Focusing on the semantic network analysis method
The purpose of this study was to explore the perception structure of parents of 3-year-old infants’ selection factors and needs for kindergartens and daycare centers through the semantic network analysis method. The subjects of the study were 400 parents of 3-year-old infants who were sending their children to kindergartens and daycare centers located in the Daejeon and Chungcheong areas, and data were collected through open questionnaires on institutional selection factors and needs. NetMiner 4 was used for data processing and analysis and frequency analysis, centrality analysis, and community analysis were conducted. The results of the study are enumerated herein. First, looking at the institutional selection factors, the analysis of frequency showed that the ‘distance’ was commonly high. The centrality analysis showed that ‘teacher’ and ‘distance’ were commonly high in degree and betweenness centrality, but, in the Eigenvector centrality, kindergartens had high ‘teachers’ and daycare centers had high ‘distance’. As a result of community analysis, ‘easy attendance’, ‘teacher and organizational climate’ and ‘various educational experiences’ were commonly found, while kindergartens were associated with ‘peripheral reputation’ and daycare centers were associated with ‘care operation management’. Second, looking at the needs of institutions, the analysis of frequency showed that ‘satisfaction’, ‘activity’, ‘teacher’, ‘education’ and ‘experience’ were commonly high. As a result of the centrality analysis, ‘activity’ and ‘education’ were commonly high, while the keywords ‘friend’ for kindergartens and ‘child abuse’ for daycare centers were found. As a result of community analysis, ‘various educational experiences’, ‘number of infants and teachers per class’ and ‘easy attendance’ were commonly found, while kindergartens were associated with ‘special activities’ and daycare centers were associated with ‘prevention of child abuse’.
본 연구는 의미연결망 분석을 통해 만 3세 유아 학부모의 유치원 및 어린이집 선택 요인과 요구에 대한 인식구조를 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 대전․충청권에 위치한 유치원 및 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 3세 유아 학부모 400명(유치원: 200명, 어린이집: 200명)이며, 개방형 설문을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 처리와 분석을 위해 NetMiner 4를 활용하였으며, 빈도 분석, 중심성 분석, 응집성 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 기관 선택 요인을 살펴보면 핵심 키워드 빈도 분석 결과 유치원과 어린이집에서 공통적으로 ‘거리’가 높게 나타났다. 중심성 분석 결과 연결, 매개중심성에서는 공통적으로 ‘교사’, ‘거리’가 높게 나타난 반면 위세중심성에서는 유치원은 ‘교사’, 어린이집은 ‘거리’ 중심성이 높게 나타났다. 응집성 분석 결과 공통적으로 ‘등하원 편의’, ‘교사 및 조직풍토’, ‘다양한 교육 경험’이 나타났고, 유치원은 ‘주변 사람들의 평판’, 어린이집은 ‘돌봄 운영 관리’가 나타났다. 둘째, 기관에 대한 요구를 살펴보면 핵심 키워드 빈도 분석 결과 유치원과 어린이집에서 공통적으로 ‘만족’, ‘활동’, ‘교사’, ‘교육’, ‘체험’이 높게 나타났다. 중심성 분석 결과 연결, 매개, 위세중심성에서 공통적으로 ‘활동’과 ‘교육’이 높게 나타났으며, 유치원은 ‘친구’, 어린이집은 ‘아동학대’ 키워드가 나타났다. 응집성 분석결과 공통적으로 ‘다양한 교육 경험’, ‘학급당 유아 및 교사 수’, ‘등하원 편의’가 나타났고, 유치원에는 ‘특별활동’, 어린이집은 ‘아동학대 방지’가 나타났다.
