This study aims to elucidate the motives for community formation of married immigrant women from the Commonwealth of Independent States(CIS) in Daegu Metropolitan City. Furthermore, the study analyzes the interactions of the members and roles of the community. The results of the research analysis are as follows. First of all, the formation of a community of married immigrant women from CIS was aimed at solving social discrimination and oppression. The roles and activities of such a community are as follows: 1) Multicultural education for children is a common goal of the community and members interact with each other 2) It serves as a support system for those from CIS below in the region 3) It has a vision of forming a community that transcends regions through recognition and exchange 4) Veche(activist) gathers opinions from each ethnic holds face-to-face roundtable meetings, and unanimously decides 5) Conducting harmonizing practices for community restoration through cross-cultural communication 6) pursuing a “politics of recognition” that shows their willingness to live togehter in the region.
