This study conducted a case study on community space types and programs targeting six multi-family houses built within 10 years, mainly in the Kanto region of Japan. The implications of the survey results are as follows. First, a space plan that can create various contact points for exchange is needed, taking into account the advantages of housing types. The local exchange space, which is a core space for generational exchange, provides opportunities for daily exchange through planning such as sharing space through multi-purpose use, expanding space in connection with external space, arranging space to encourage intersection of movement lines, and arranging open space at the entrance or lower level. It can be increased. Second, programs are provided by experts for continuous multi-generational exchange, and activities are supported taking into account the usage status of local residents. In addition, it can be an opportunity to increase the possibility of customized exchanges with consumers and effective generational exchanges by trying experimental and diverse programs. Third, living convenience facilities in multi-generational exchange-type housing enable people to continue living safely and independently, and can serve as a base for exchange within the region by providing the services of the facility to local residents.
