Theories that consider emotions as the source of moral concepts have the advantages of broad explanatory power and intuitive justification. However, our emotions inherently have a bias toward attachment to close individuals and familiar practices, making it inevitable to feel aversion toward strangers. This ingroup bias tends to solidify discrimination against the others and reinforce oppression for them. I aims to show how contemporary leading moral theories utilize emotions and propose a new understanding of emotions to address the weaknesses inherent in such emotions. In section 2, the reactive attitudes theory and Nussbaum’s Neo-Stoic views of emotions are examined to show how they use emotions in their development, and I point out the inadequacies of their proposed solutions. Section 3 explains how the bias of emotions has operated in our lives and politics. Section 4 is dedicated to attempting a new understanding of negative emotions toward others. Focusing on Ahmed's theory of emotions, which suggests that the negative emotions we hold towards others may not be an inner product triggered by their inherent characteristics, but rather something socially constructed and infiltrated within us, it will explore whether emotions can function as a warning signaling the start of moral dialogue. Through this, I want to seek ways to overcome the limitations of moral theories based on emotions.
