This study aims at examining how the restructuring in labor market have influenced upon the employment rights and the conditions of female workers. The borderless infinite competition in the age of globalization has transformed or reconstructed not only a gendered labor market but also an intimacy structure which is constructed in the relation between work and family.
Considering all worker as 'workers with a responsibility on the family', it is recommended that government or employers should establish the practical supporting institutions and systems for married women/men worker. For instance, the low level of these systems has been generally attributed as a cause for a justified excuse for gender discrimination such as the low employment rate of women, the gender discrimination in retiring age and layoffs. Above all, the state's deregulation policy has deeply influenced upon the marginalization of female workers and gender discrimination in labor market. Furthermore, it has been caused by the rapid changes of family institution such as rising divorce rates and dramatic decrease in the birth rates, now what is called 'Strike on Birth'.
Nowadays, some researchers are questioning the problem of maginalized professional women in the IT field. Their optimistic view accurately reflects not only the statistical data reporting a increase trends of women, but also the conviction of future code, 'women'. However, with a criticism of this optimistic view, this study attempts to analyze the difference in work and family experiences of the women workers according to their different employment status, the marital status and job. For doing this, this study surveyed 10 married/single women workers asking their work and family experiences.
The results from the analysis show that the instability of employment has doubly influenced upon married women workers designating them unstable workers in family as well as in labor market. The implications from the study results indicate that acknowledging the women as a worker, providing the subsequent supporting system for 'worker with a responsibility on the family', and establishing government policies to deconstruct gender division of labor in local market, are requested in global era. If not fulfilled these essential prerequisite, Women programmers in the IT field would do not continue their job.
