This study deals systematically with the educational contents and method, the personality and mission of the professors, and the goal of the higher education which John Amos Comenius, the founder of modem education, created in terms of his various works and activities. In modem society in which the importance and identity of the university education has been lost it is aimed to inquire and reflect its original commission and responsibilities which he already established before the four centuries. Comenius presented teaching, research and professional training as the educational tasks of the university which he invented on the basis of the principle of nature and the developmental stages of human being, and then suggested the overseas and domestic travel as the one of the required curricula of the university for the promotion of those students who obtained the learning and knowledge from its three areas. And the university education has to direct toward the nurture of the promising leaders for the revolution of the future society by means, of the communication of the interdisciplinary disciplines and the synthesis of a11 knowledge through the three intrinsic functions of the university education, In doing its function the president and professors who are responsible for the university education should carry out the divine mission to realize new community and globalization with their integral personalities of piety, virtue and intellect Especially the university must positively promote the raising and use of the developing funds for its main functions and missions. And consequently, the study of the university education of Com emus not only reflects the dIverse problems of the present universIty and their resoluble methodology, but also finds out concretely the futuristic orientation and direction of the university education.
