This dissertation attempts co investigate the only poetic world of Kim Hyun-seung from a faithful imagination. The previous researches into imagination of Kim Hyun-seung' s poetry gave attention to primary imagination. That is because those are investigated by a common concept of imagination and religious idealism without consideration to creativity and Arthetizitat.
So this disquisition aims at discovering secondary imagination specialized by deteleolization and desacralization of prefiguration in making mythical-religious imagination after due consideration of primary imagination, because secondary imagination is poetic skill or faculty lighting beauty of transformed and creative world than common human memories, idealism or metaphysical thoughts.
The specialization of imagination in Kim's poetry occurs in conflict and tension between religious self-consciousness as a prayer and aesthetic self-consciousness as a poet.
The unconscious inclination for deity(divinity) from religious self-consciousness makes mythical-religious prefiguration activating primary transitional imagination. The aesthetic self-consciousness specializes primary transitional prefiguration into secondary transitional imagination by deteleolization and desactalization. The images that approach deity in transitional action of primary imagination secondly image the loneliness as a shock of humanism and aesthetical thing.
The primary imaginations in Kim's poetry are passage imagination and alchemical imagination. Although both are transitional imagination, the former stresses on projection, the latter has a heavier point in introprojection or assimilation. So we should investigate secondary imaginations in the way of deteleolization and desacralization in the different chapters.
The chapter 2 aims at the Asthetizitat of loneliness imaged by specialization of the passage imagination. liminality that is removed of divine activity by specialization becomes a time-space when-where the beauty appears and is experienced.
In the chapter 3, I investigate the various aspects of loneliness imaged by desacralized religious-alchemical imagination as a secondary imagination that transforms and transmutes the materials from impure and imperfect state to pure and perfect.
In chapter 4, I inspect the theme with the works those are not included in chapter 2 or chapter 3 together. Various aspects of loneliness are expressed in Kim's poetry. But they approach the Asthetizitat of loneliness bringing freedom from divine activity and rule through specialization of imagination by tension and conflict between aesthetic self-consciousness and religious self-consciousness, and approach aesthetical absoluteness replacing deity. So Kim's poetry have aesthetical Autonomy not obeying religious idealism.
