The purpose of this study is to examine the reflected phases of Media Education and to search a orientation of Media Education in a Revised Tentative Plan of the 7th National Curriculum for Korean Language Education.
The results of this study are as follow. First, the Media or Media Language become important content of Education in a Revised Tentative Plan of the 7th National Curriculum for Korean Language Education. Second, contents of Media Education combined in the Content Category of ‘Listening’, ‘Speaking’, ‘Reading’, ‘Writing’ and ‘Literature’, even so Media Education was not established by New Content Category. Third, the diversity of Media Texts contained in a Revised Tentative Plan.
I also pay attention to orientation of Media or Media Language Education. First, Media Education and Media Language Education are discriminated. Second, acceptance necessity of Media or Media Language Education must be reexamined from an educational point of view. Third, contents of Media Language Education must be combined with the ‘Korean-Language-Knowledge’. Forth, educational value of Media Texts must be reexamined. Lastly, if possible, I expect Media Education to establish by ‘Viewing’ and ‘Shaping’ in future.
