The purpose of this study, which is based on the qualitative study method, is to clarify the low-skilled elementary school children’s recognitions and experiences that they experience in physical education class.
Six students are selected among forty-two students of the first class of sixth grade in Kelementary school on a basis of classroom observation, homeroom teacher's opinions, and the test results of physical education exam. The data, which come from the experiences of the participation in physical education class, were collected through the depth interview with these six students.
First, the low-skilled students has been experiencing lots of failures in physical education classes. And they were boring the physical education lessons or experiencing the learned feelings of frustration.
Second, they wanted to receive the more interest and assistance from the teacher or their friends.
Third, the low-skilled students were feared or tried to avoid the criticisms on their performances of physical exercises from their friends, or even they gave up to participate in the physical activities.
Forth. the low-skilled students were happy when the results of their performance were successful and when the results were immediate and positive they considered it as a success.
Therefore, teachers need to make the tasks easier so that most of students can make it, and teachers need to manage the class by grouping students according to their ability, emphasizing the cooperation rather than the competition.
