In this paper I want to find out the Korean case system of calligraphic materials, 'Byoung-ja-rok'(병자록) and 'Seon-bugun-eun-haeng-yu-sa' (선부군언항유사).
As we know, written language is different from spoken language. So the Korean case system which is written in these materials, is not complete one in that 18008. Especially I think that it is not the same such a spoken language.
In these materials, subjective case markers are 'i(ㅣ), i(이), ga(가)' and 'kyeo-o-syeo (겨오셔)/skui-syeo(꾀셔)'. 'i'(ㅣ/이) is original subject case marker from old times. But 'ga(가)' is developed in 18C. If subject noun is honorific personal pronoun, the subject markers is replaced by 'kyeo-o-syeo (겨오셔)/skui-syeo(꾀셔)', that is 'kke-seo(께서)' nowadays.
There are four kinds of accusative case marker. Those are all 'el/eul(알/을), lel/leul(랄/를)'. But real accusative case marker are 'eul/leul(을/를)'. It's reason is that Korean vowel 'e(ㆍ)' had been changed into 'eu(ㅡ)' or 'a (ㅏ)' in the 17C. We have other accusative case marker 'heul(흘)' . This case marker is added to the h-final noun. But the case marker 'heul' in this materials is not true one. It is only an old type just like Middle Korean.
We were able to confirm two functions from one case marker 'euy(의)'. One is genitive case marker and the other locative marker. We can only distinguished these case marker functions from the context. Accordingly genitive case marker or locative case marker is ‘ui(의)’.
'Eu-ro/ro(으로/로)' is instrumental case marker. However 'ro(로)'is changed into 'no (노) , which is agglutinated by the 'l(ㄹ)' fmal noun. This phenomenon is the phonological representation of Modem Korean.
Finally, dative case markers are 'ui-ge/e-ge(의게/에게)', 'skui(꾀)', 'da-ryeo(다려)' and 'eul/leul(을/를)'. 'ui-ge/e-ge(의게/에게)' are common dative case marker and 'skui(꾀)' is honorific dative case marker. If any dative personal pronoun is topicalized by a speaker, the dative case marker is replaced by 'eul/leul(을/를)'. Generally this topic dative case marker 'eul/leul(을/를)' is called.
