Nowadays, since the advent of fast ship, what we so called, 'The crisis of Bill of Lading' has been materialized. The substitution for the paper Bill of lading, a new alternative began to grope its way, which was initiated by the Seawaybill. But the Seawaybill was not the negotiable documents, so that delivery of the commodities could not be delayed without presenting the Seawaybill at the port of landing. Therefore, When the negotiable Bill of lading was necessary, and the Seawaybill was not applicable, the negotiable Bill of Lading was to be incorporated electronically. The CMI rules for electronic Bill of Lading(1990) was established, and then in the mid of the 1990's, the advent of Bolero Bill of Lading was the main force of paperless electronic process of transportation. Meanwhile, The trial of the Law-making for the International normalization for the electronic Bill of Lading was beginning, for example, the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce(1996). In the future, To activate electronic Bill of Lading, We should put in order for making international electronic Bill of Lading. And Electronic Bill of Lading should be closely connected with electronic Trade services which would break out in the future as well.
