What is truth? Truth in Greek is the counter-concept of hidden status. It means to be revealed. Paul and John proclaimed Jesus Christ as the truth. The understanding of God as absolute truth originates from doubt as to His name and His existence. Who is God? He told Moses 'I am who I am.'
Does God exist? The answer to this question may be explained in five arguments.
The first argument is a cosmological one. All creatures were created by the originator. They are the effect of the cause. The first cause is God.
The second argument is teleological. We have order III this world and the order is designed by God. God has given a purpose to all that existences.
The third argument is ontological. The existence of God is connected to the notion of God. That the thought of God occurs infers that God exists.
The fourth argument is historical. Throughout history people have worshipped God. At different times and places and in different ways the object of worship has been God.
The fifth argument is natural. We know the existence of God through nature. God created the natural world so that by observation of it people may know God.
We can know something about God as described in the above arguments. The knowledge only becomes complete however through revelation from God. God revealed himself through the incarnation of Jesus Christ who came into the world as saviour.
A Theological person finds the truth in the light of God's revelation. Whatever problems he has in this world he trusts in the absolute being who created and sustains all creatures, that is he trusts in God.
Jesus experienced all aspects of human existence whilst he lived as a man. Accordingly, a theological person solves his problems of existence through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Without knowledge of the truth human existence is an intractable dilemma.
