This resaerch is the study of Shin-Hun's family's land in Jincheon and Chungju. This is the first study to analyze a family's land ownership with using Gwangmu-Yangan(光武量案) But I cannot use other documents to show up land exept Jincheon and Chungju, because there is no one in descendants.
Shin-Hun‘s family was the representative local family in Jincheon. He and his sons became the high government officia1. They lived in Seoul, but would not cut off relation to their home town with returning after withdrawal.
Therefore they had possess land in Jincheon during living in Seoul. But they wouldn't expand their land. It is very different from other higher official's behavor. For example Min's family expanded their estates without letup. Min's family concentrated estates and houses in 2 or 3 Myeon(面), and in other Myeon, acquired small land little by little. This is the typicial way of getting rich. But Shin-Hun's family didn't buy small land little by little.
Why they didn't follow the way of becomming rich. It is the reason that they were higher officials but they were military officer, and had no long nobility. They rised up only their effort and obtained King's trust. It may make them prudence in a fortune.
