??This thesis treats of the analysis of Martin Bucer's Commentary on the Epjsde to the Ephesjans(1527), focused on the Holy Spirit and the Word. In considering the Holy Spirit and the Word in the theology of Bucer the historical and dogmatic methode has been followed.
??The areas of Bucer's conflict with the anabaptists are clear as follows: baptism, free will, a separation of the power of the magistrate from the life of the church, and the opposition between Old and New covenant, etc.
??Christ, having received power from the Father, by right dispenses the Spirit of the children of God. The Holy Spirit is the gift of Christ. The order of the salvation is as follows. First, God's election or predestination. Next adoption as children, which also called vocation, since the Lord draws to himself those to whom he has given his Spirit, and gives them knowledge for which he has destined them from eternity. Then Third place comes holiness of life and the duties of love, by which good works are produced. Fourthly, there is in the saints the glory of God, resulting from the righteousness, with which God has deemed it worthy to adorn them. The cause of election is God's grace and Christ's merit. Its purpose is the sanctification of our life and God's glory.
??In Bucer's understanding of the Bible the Word and the Holy Spirit are essentially joined. The Bible is from the Spirit and, therefore, its words are the words of the Spirit. The outward Word of preaching is not to be separated from the written Word of the Holy Scripture. If the Holy Spirit teaches inwardly, then we accept it. Due to his position with the 'via media' he both stands between on the one side Luther(by Word) and on the other side the spiritualists(without Word).
