The Precedent domestic studies have taken focus on queue waits with increases of concerns about the waiting management. However some study on Pre-scheduled waits is relatively lacking.
The object of this study is the psychological factors of Pre-scheduled waits. The aim of this study is investigate if the psychological factor of Pre-scheduled waits is applicable to the one of queue waits that Precedent domestic studies have analyzed Also the another aim of this study is presenting the objective validity of the new perception of waiting management to the hotel company.
With this purpose, this study uses the model based on the precedent studies and empirical cases. This model combines five factors, consideration for the wait, using waiting time, perceived waiting time, affective response to the wait, acceptability of the wait.
Similar to precedent study on queue waits, consideration for the wait have influence on perceived waiting time. Also perceived waiting time have influence affective response to the wait and acceptability of the wait. However consideration for the wait does not have influence on perceived waiting time. And with the interrelation of consideration for the wait and perceived waiting, there is difference between male and female. This is suggestive result that there should be another in-depth study. Furthermore there should be additional studies on the psychological factors of pre-scheduled waits.
There are some implications in the results of this study. For the managers of service business waits including buffet restaurant of hotel which have pre-scheduled, the results indicates the objective necessity for effective marketing method to handle the waiting guest. Especially, buffet restaurant leading the guest attraction and revenue increase of hotel should comprehend the psychological factors of waiting guests.
In the academic aspects, this study indicates the necessity of in-depth study on pre-scheduled waits and various subject and analysis method in the studied on waits.
