On this study, we conducted researches of UCTs (Unmanned Container Transporter) and control of them for the automation of distribution system in harbors. Each UCT requires four wheel drive and steering system to use limited space and radius of gyration effectively. Entire network system is essential for the whole process management including path formation, detection, and the control of containers. Accordingly, we designed two test models similar to existing UCT and adopted four-wheel steering system to them. Furthermore, we made real-time positioning possible using USAT (Ultrasonic Satellite System). Each UCT was controlled by remote-controllable computer based on bluetooth device and driven according to the whole path planning and detection. We also set up a main compute through LAN cable above sub computers and used algorithm to avoid interference among transporters and to direct orders. Using real-time positioning information from USAT, we operated unmanned navigation and estimated the accuracy with pre-study. Adding LPF (Low pass Filter) to positioning system, we were able to have sampling time upgraded much faster and analyze it successfully. Finally, we set up host system of two UCTs and developed integrated management system by LAN cable.
