The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between leisure sports participation of employees and organizational commitment. The sample for this study were drawn from a total of 1,068 respondents which consist of 637 male respondents and 421 female ones who work in public institution and enterprise and participate in sport facilities located in Seoul area in 1998. The organizational commitment ones, which is developed by Poter et al. (1974) and standardized in Korean language by Kim(1994), was used for this study. The statistical methods utilized in this study in analyzing the collected data are description analysis, one-way ANOVA, analysis of covariance, multiple classification analysis, standard multiple regression analysis. From the analysis of data on the basis of statistical methods and procedure, the findings of this study are as follows: First, socio-demographic variables of employees are partially different by organizational commitment of participants of sports facilities. Concerning to organizational commitment subscales included loyalty in job and spontaneity, the more educated, the higher income and professional technicians revealed higher than the less educated, the lower income and the skilled laborer. For organizational commitment subscales of value acceptance, the elder, the higher educated, the higher income, and professional technicians reported higher than the younger, the less educated, the lower income, and skilled laborer. Second, there were significant differences between the leisure sports participation of employees and organizational commitment. In all of subscales of organizational commitment, the leisure sports participants showed higher than non-participants. Third, there were no difference between the pattern of leisure sports participation of employees and organizational commitment.
