This article tries to search for the originality of life and ecological idea in Genesis chapter 1, and expand it the traditional biblical interpretation linking with Lao tzu and Chang tzus` taoism and Buddhism. I approached the interrelation of cosmology, nature and human on focusing the life and ecological view, which I extend the category of Bible to ancient Chinese philosophy and Buddhism. It means that the truth which ancient Hebrews realized and the truth which Lao and Changs` thoughts and Buddhism realized are not different, but are common subjects to resolve the existence of our life in living the nature and world including universe. I tried to see the hermeneutical approach looking the Bible in religions, because this trial is possible when it is on th premise of the dialogue between religions beyond historical, cultural, religious background. The biblical hermeneutics can broadly be understood when finding the meaning of the Bible in the thoughts of religions. Taoism of Lao tzu and Chang tzu shows the way of the truth from the universe to an individual person, and also Buddhism deeply treats the life of human, nature and cosmos. I linked the law of causality. Namely Buddhism sees that all everything in universe is related, dependent, live and die, changed each other. The law of causality is a theory which all existing being are interdepend. The ancient near east world and the Old Testament only can not possessed the observation toward universe, the creation of earth, nature and human exclusively. Even through the hebrew world is not linked with Chinese world and the other eastern world beyond the time and the space, human being has a common though and mind to the universe, nature, human and the mutual relation with them. On the basis of this, this research linked Genesis ch. 1 with the thought of life and ecology in taoism and Buddhism. God who Priestly writer(P) described doesn`t show the conflicts and struggles with gods, but creation of the universe, established the order of nature. P intends to the view of life and ecological nature with altogether instead of confrontation and confliction. Genesis ch. 1 says that all living and lifeless things are linked with the universe. P expresses the meaning and relation of the uncountable universe, the life and ecology, human respect by using his creative literary form, ‘God created...’ This idea and thought are common subjects in ancient China and Buddhism. And God is an ultimate reality, the formless before the time, and unrecognizable being through the reason and the sense of human. The conception of Lao tzu`s Tao expressed also the beginning of the universe, the subject of heaven, nature and human being and incomprehensible through th five sense. All things in universe are stood in each time and space, and living things survive itself making the organic changes. Human is also living in this structure of causal net and adapting himself in it. Though P`s Genesis ch. 1 was influenced by the create myths of ANE during the Babylon exile, it expressed his creative view of the vast universe, the life of order in nature, the life and the ecological peace idea, and the human right thought in his own literary frame. Lao tzu and Chang tzu said ‘tao’ which had a meaning of the conception of god, creation, nature, and personality. Buddhism also explained the origin of universe, the first beginning, the nothingness, the emptiness on the basis of the law of causality and effect. The life and ecology have not to see only in nature and environment, but can see even in an weed and a plankton linking with universe, provision of nature and human. Then we can understand the meaning of great creation through seeing in the frame of coexistence. It`s the relation that the whole and the part are not apart, and human also exists by th other person, namely the mutual dependence. The relation of universe, nature and human being is the absolute negation, and at the same time the absolute a
