In modern society, parental concern for their child education is ever increasing along with the progress in educational level, and private education is also on the increasing trend. Education is one of the life courses to all humans, and educational environment also comes to do important work. Particularly, the educational environment in child life responds to children very sensitively, and good quality environment becomes a foothold that can induce a child to desirable development. Is the hitherto elementary curriculum in Korea "composed of the curriculum and educational environment for child development"?
The curriculum in Korea has been revised over a period of 5 years starting from the 1st Curriculum until the 7th one, and afterwards, it has changed to the "timely revision system" without a certain period.
Due to the frequently varying curriculum, realities are that the curricula from 2007 until now are disorderly mixed. Moreover, according to the curriculum revision, educational programs could vary, but the education space or educational environment still have the old appearance. The curriculum for an elementary school comes to play a very pivotal role in child life experience. This study hopes that this research could be helpful in providing the environment suited for child development through the analysis of domestic excellent elementary school curriculum and also in improving educational environment on the basis of deep understanding of child development and elementary curriculum; in addition, such an analysis could be helpful not only to an elementary school but also to private educational facilities.
