This study is designed to review the early church Fathers’ understanding of alms as the alternative for the authentic community, while modern societies are formed in the global era of neoliberal economic thought, resulting problem of social polarization and deconstruction of the community. And also it is designed to review what causes them. More concretely, it surveys the view of the early church concerning the authentic community living together with the poor and the rich in the equality throughout Clement of Alexandria and Cyprian of Carthage as the figures of ante-Nicene and Basil of Cappadocia, John Chrysostom, Ambrose of Milan and Augustine of Hippo as the figure of post-Nicene. Clement of Alexandria. It seeks what leads each figure to their own view. And it reviews the continuity and discontinuity among above six men and reviews its cause. In its conclusive remarks, this study shows what the alms is the alternative for the authentic community. It actually confronts with the issue of the wealth and the rich. It meets with the moderate understanding of the wealth and the rich, that is, the neutrality of the wealth and the justification of the rich.
