This study examines the perceptions of their children's educational needs according to school levels and draws educational implications based on their levels. To this end, we surveyed 1,741 parents who have children attending Dae-Jeon’s elementary, middle, and high school. We asked them about their source on child care information, participation topics and frequencies of education for parents, need and satisfaction of education for parents, the requirements of home education as education for parents. The first analysis result focused on the information about the current state of education for parents was perceived less through education conducted at school, and as the grade of the child and school grade increased, the interaction with the school decreased. In addition, most education for parents of children who are students programs were conducted in lectures on "career and career guidance". Second, parents have positive attitude about need for education for parents of children who are students and intention to participate, and they wants to have an education in one semester course in the academy class. The preferred educational contents differ according to the school level. Education for parents' future directions and aims are discussed. On this basis, we emphasize holding discussions on the meaning of education for parents of children who are students, the examination of educational implications, the validity of dealing home education in education for parents. This study clarifies the nature of education for parents of children who are students and provides guidelines in developing education for parents of children who are students programs contributing in making a systematical and rational education ultimately contributing to maximize education’s efficiency for parents of children who are students’ empowerment.

이 연구는 학교 급별로 학부모들이 인지하는 학부모교육의 실태와 요구를 살펴봄으로써 학교 급별 학부모교육에 요구되는 교육적 시사점을 얻고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 대전시내의 초·중·고등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모 1,741명에 대한 설문을 통하여 자녀양육 정보의 출처, 학부모교육의 참여 빈도와 참여 주제, 운영 방식에 대한 인식, 학부모교육 만족도, 학부모교육으로서 자녀의 가정생활교육에 대한 교육 요구도, 학부모교육에 대한 필요도, 운영방식에 대한 요구도 등의 요구와 실태에 대하여 학교 급별로 차이가 있는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 학부모들이 인지하는 학부모교육의 실태에 대한 정보는 학교 등에서 실시하는 교육을 통해 얻는 경우가 적었으며, 자녀의 학년과 학교 급이 높아질수록 학교와의 상호작용이 줄고 있음이 나타났다. 또한 대부분의 학부모교육이 ‘진로 및 진로지도’의 내용을 강의식으로 진행되는데 그쳤다. 둘째, 학부모들의 학부모교육에 대한 요구를 살펴본 결과 학부모교육의 필요성 및 참가의향에 긍정적인 태도를 보였으며, 아카데미 운영방식으로 한 학기 1회 교육을 희망하였다. 선호하는 교육내용은 학교 급에 따라 차이를 보였다. 분석결과에 따라 학교 급별 학부모교육의 방향과 지향을 논의하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 학부모교육의 의미, 학부모교육에 대한 교육적 시사점의 모색, 학부모교육에서 가정생활교육을 다루어야 하는 타당성 등도 후속적으로 논의되어야 함을 강조하였다. 이 연구는 학부모교육의 본질을 분명히 하고 학부모교육 프로그램 개발의 지침을 제공할 수 있게 됨으로써 체계적이고 합리적인 학부모교육의 계획과 운영에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이며, 궁극적으로 학부모의 역량 강화를 위한 교육의 효율성을 극대화시키는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 본다.
