The purpose of this study is to find out the effect on emotional intelligence and school adjustment of group art therapy program for school-maladjusted children. For this study, among school children showing school maladjustment with parental consent of 4 to 6 grade at B elementary school in S city, 18 children were randomly and equally assigned to control group and experimental group. This study was carried out by group art therapy program of a total of 12 100 minute-long sessions once a week from May 1 to July 17, 2013 except the pre- and post tests. Tools used to measure the effectiveness of this program were Emotional Intelligence Scale Test by Mun Yongrin(1996) and School Adjustment Scale Test by Woo Soyeon(2008), Projection Drawing Test, K-HTP and KSD for the pre- and post tests. The results were as follows. First, this group art therapy program could show a significant effect of improving emotional intelligence of school maladjusted children by observing the results of Emotional Intelligence Scale Test and K-HTP for the pre- and post tests. Second, this program positively affected school adjustment of those children by observing the results of School Adjustment Scale Test and KSD for the pre- and post tests. As a result of this study, this group art therapy program certainly had positive effects on improvement of emotional intelligence and school adjustment of school maladjusted children.
