This study investigated the relationship between organizational communication, knowledge sharing, organizational trust and involvement, using data collected from 219 employees at five National Universities in Pusan City and KyeongNam Province. The researcher derived five different but related hypotheses from the literature review. Regression and mediation analyses were conducted to test them, which explored the ways and mechanisms in which organizational communication, knowledge sharing and organizational trust influence organizational involvement. after variables including job and organizational characteristics being controlled for.
Analyses showed a salient importance of the quantity and quality of information, and knowledge creation activity as predictors of organizational trust and involvement. As supposed, organizational trust mediated between the knowledge sharing and organizational involvement. The findings also highlight the role of knowledge creation as well as the enough and accurate information in developing organizational trust and involvement. Implications of these findings were discussed.
