This paper investigates how translators deal with cultural differences when translating tour websites. In doing so, what translation strategies will be employed is one of the main emphases on this paper. According to translation strategies, translations can be identified as diverse versions. Cultural differences in two languages, Source Language and Target Language, result in linguistic differences. To get more appropriate meaning, some words or explanations should be added in Target Language. Sometimes, pictures will be helpful to understand what the source text provides. First, it is the first step to search for tour websites of neighboring countries including Japan and Guam. These nations, which are geographically closer to South Korea than ones in Europe, provide Korean translations in their main tour sites in most cases. It seems not easy to get satisfying results for analysis. Unlike them, England is one of the relatively far lands from South Korea. About 14-hour flight time might cause the element to some extent. Other regions in England, except London, seems not so familiar to Koreans. Interestingly, various cultural elements in England provide good sources for analysis. In particular, there can be found a variety of accommodations related to tour websites. As examples to be translated, terms such as B&B, half board, full board, and cottage are investigated. These terms appears not to be familiar to foreigners. Therefore, some explanations are added to make them understood. The focus of this paper is on how translators translate these accommodations into Korean more adequately. Considering translating process, translator's role to close the gap between two languages is linked with translation norms, acceptability and adequacy. According to translating strategies, if translators employ domestication, they can attain acceptability in translations. When translators adopt foreignization, the adequacy of the source text will be guaranteed. And then if there can be found domestication, translators will be invisible in translated texts, and vice versa. Therefore, translators' decision lies in mediation between ST and TT. In the transfer process, translators' mediation is based on their own knowledge and beliefs.
