The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of therapeutic music activity program on children’s emotion regulation ability as well as their self-esteem. Participants of this study were children 6 years of age. A total of 28 children took part in the study, with 14 participants placed in the experimental group and 14 in the control group. The experimental group was given 15 sessions of the therapeutic music activity program and the control group given 15 sessions of free play. SPSS 23.0 program was used for the analysis of collected data. This study found that scores in emotion regulation ability and in self-esteem of the children of the experimental group showed improvement; it confirmed that the therapeutic musical activity program applied in this study contributed to the emotional development and adaptability of the children.
