This study examined the impact of attitude toward work on the working intention and the working status of older people with a large representative sample of ELSA dataset. The attitude and working intention at wave 2 and the working status between wave 2 and wave 4 were examined for the analysis. The sample is older people who are 50 years and over and are employed in paid work at wave 2. Using the secondary longitudinal data, older workers’ attitude toward work, intention beyond the compulsory retirement age and actual working status are examined by descriptive analysis and the relationships between them are tested with two hypotheses by binary logistic regression model. To sum up the results, it appears that approximately three forth of respondents would not like to work beyond the compulsory retirement age. They are somewhat satisfied with their work and do not have serious stress or insecurity regarding their job. The results of logistic regression analysis are as follows. The first hypothesis that the attitude toward work of older workers has a positive effect on working intention was accepted. The second hypothesis that the attitude toward work of older workers has a positive effect on working status was not accepted.
