The purpose of this study aimed to draw implications for setting direction of school change and researching on school culture by systematically analyzing and reflecting the current studies of school culture in Korea. There were two prominent research question regarding school culture. First, what are the research trends of school(organizational)culture, (occupational) culture of teacher, instructional culture in terms of its topics, areas, and methods of research? Second, what are the characteristics and limits of the research trends in terms of its topics and areas of research? The results of the research trends in its topics and areas were as following. First, the number of studies in the school(organizational) culture was 41 and (occupational) culture of teacher was 28. Second, the correlational analyses of other variables and measuring culture in the (organizational) school culture were 31 and the analyses of cultural attributes in (occupational)culture of teachers were 26. This study proposed that the future study of school culture should be considered as follows. First, researchers need to consider the fact that the range of study of school culture should be extended in terms of participants, areas of study, and research topics. Second, it is also necessary for the researcher to make clearer concepts of school organizational culture and school culture and to discuss new approaches to the study of school culture. Third, researchers need to work on identifying particularity and distinctive features of individual teachers groups and occupational culture in relation to (occupational) culture of teachers. Fourth, it is necessary for the researcher to shift their focus on teachers to on students when they are working on studying instructional culture and at the same time to extend the area of research interest in instructional culture. Finally, fifth, researchers need to address the distinctive characteristics of school culture for those who share with the cultural identity of Korean
