The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of integrated mathematics and English activities on young children’s mathematical concept formation and their English achievement. The activities were designed to improve young children’s cognitive development in mathematics and English communication skills. 10 children were participated in this study and they were divided into two small groups of 5 three year old- and 5 five year old children. This study was conducted after a preliminary study and had a pretest-posttest design to measure children’s mathematical concepts and English achievement. A total of 18 math and English activities were applied to each experimental group. In order to verify the significant differences in the pre-test and the post-test of the experimental group, the paired t-test was conducted. The results showed that the integrated mathematics and English activities for young children did not have a significant impact on their mathematical concept formation, whereas significant differences were found in their English achievement, English listening, and English speaking. This study is significant in that it provides a model of integrated program of subject areas for young children, providing implications for their improvement of English achievements.
