The purpose of this study is to examine the change of moral education in North Korea by comparing ‘Communist Morality’ and ‘Socialist Morality.’ The results of this study are as follows. First, This study identified Kim Jong-il's doctrines as the backdrop for the emergence of socialist morality in the 1990s due to economic difficulties in the North Korean society and the increasing number of young people's non-socialism caused by the influx of outside information. Second, it was confirmed that North Korea defined socialist society as the best development stage of human society in terms of a philosophical and sociological point of view, and defined socialist morality as the best morality. Third, based on these academic discussions, the socialist moral textbook (2013) shows changes in many respects, while maintaining a positive impression type and model suggestion type.
