This paper is focuses on the fact that Jin Ping Mei and Jeol-hwa-gi-dam are erotic novels, and the purpose of this study is to compare and explore the sexual desire of the two novels. Jin Ping Mei is written by Xiao Xiao Sheng at the late Ming Dynasty and this novel describes the main character Xi Men Qing and the naked sex of his concubines. Jeol-hwa-gi-dam is written by Nam-hwa-san-in at the late Joseon Dynasty and this novel under the influence of Jin Ping Mei, also describes explicit sexuality of Yi-saeng and Sun-mae. According to the process of emergence of Korean-Chinese erotic novels, there is deep connection between Jin Ping Mei and Jeol-hwa-gi-dam, which can be seen from the preface and content of the book. The greatest commonality between the two novels is the immorality of married men and women. The living conditions, psychological causes, the procuresses connecting them, and the pleasant urban atmosphere have further strengthened their sexual desire. However, the main theme and the results show the difference between the two novels. Jin Ping Mei maintains a male-centered view of women’s body and sexuality. And this view of masculineism imposes even more severe punishment on Pan Jin Lian than Xi Men Qing, even if he commits lewd acts. In contrast, Yi-saeng and sun-mae’s love do not come true in Jeol-hwa-gi-dam. However, the fact that Yi-saeng and Sun-mae want only one night’s affair without clear purpose, and that married Yi-saeng and Sun-mae return to their own homes after the escapade is all a harsh depiction of reality. It reveals their original desires more intensely.
