(Background and Purpose) The development of mobile technology has become an essential part in all areas of our life. It enables us to give access to various forms of culture such as music, video, art through innovative devices as well as concept that creates our routinely lifestyle. Thanks to the mobile technology becoming universal and rapidly evolving in the society, it has given rise to the growth of virtual mode as well. With the new phenomenon, this study is aimed to analyse the trend of non-face-to-face exhibition and discuss the feasibility of mobile technology as an area of space design for non-physical exhibition. (Method) The fourth industrial revolution technologies including AI, Big Data and IoT can be described as unmanned tools, which are becoming more progressed and sophisticated. This study refers the mobile technology as the fourth screen and explains tendency in connection with non-faced exhibition space. Firstly, it analyses the social view on non-face-to-face phenomenon and development of mobile communication network that supports the trend. Second, it examines the characteristics of non-physical exhibition by the mobile system and method of exhibition guide elements. Thirdly, in order to discuss how to utilize the new concept of exhibition space design, it explores the recent cases of non-faced exhibitions in Korea and abroad. Lastly, it addresses the limitations and need for future research based on our research. (Results) Mobile applications with untouched services are widely used, especially because audience can conveniently use the service at any time based on their schedule or preference without physical presence or unnecessary communications with people. According to our analysis on the 5G market trend led by development of mobile technology and characteristics of non-face-to-face exhibition guide elements, the non-physical approach can be strongly characterized by mobility, followed by portability, convenience, connectivity and extensibility. As an implementing element for the non-faced exhibition guide, images and texts are greatly utilized, however, various methods such as video, music sound and voice are projected to be used in the future. (Conclusions) Due to the pronged pandemic, there has been increased interests in non-face-to-face space without time and space constraints. Consequently, emerging exhibition space has called for a new space design for such trend. The virtual exhibition space can provide customized contents in a desired format at any time and place. Since the audience can actively make the use of their time and space, the scope of space can also be expanded. This lifestyle is becoming more essential for connecting and communicating people around the world through the Internet. Future studies need to focus on human-centred technical research so that it can resolve the information gaps between the users in the environment where new technologies and non-facing systems are prevalent.
