The government's employment policy has lacked research to cope with the changing times. This paper aims to analyze the problems of existing short- and long-term youth employment policies and to seek the correct policy direction by analyzing the effectiveness of active labor market policies. This study first examines the problems of existing youth employment policy and suggests the necessity of active labor market policy. Second, this study examines previous studies on youth employment policy, and third, examines the effectiveness of youth employment policy through empirical analysis. In the empirical analysis, the effectiveness of direct labor market policy is analyzed by selecting employment status, employment type, job satisfaction, etc. as dependent variables. Existing youth employment policies have focused on quantitative expansion in the face of short-term achievements and insufficient policy effectiveness. Policy implications, such as the effects of parental income or parental wealth, derived from the analysis of the effectiveness of direct employment policies, will be of great significance in establishing effective youth work policies in the future.
