The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of individual factors and of learning factors on semi-older and older learners about their learning outcomes. For this purpose, the data of “Survey on Lifelong Study at the Individual Level” 2020 by the Korean Educational Development Institute, which categorized learners aged 55∼64 and 65∼79 as semi-older and older learners, was used. The main findings of this study were as follows: First, the individual factors affecting learning outcomes were the level of education and life satisfaction in semi-aged learners, and economic activity and life satisfaction of elderly learners. Second, the learning factors that influence learning outcomes were program satisfaction and familiarity with digital learning mediums in semi-aged learners, and participation courses, program satisfaction, vocational ability programs, and digital learning media familiarity in elderly learners. Finally, it was confirmed that the learning outcomes of semi-older and older learners increased as they became familiar with digital media classes. Based on these findings, we presented that the elderly are re-examined as active learners, and from the viewpoint of lifespan development for aged population, a direction for effective development of education for the elderly is presented.
