Modern society is realizing the Value Organizing in various related fields for the purpose of human happiness. Also, since Bauhaus' design education 100 years ago, the importance of convergence in basic education has is continuing under development. For creative and high-quality design education that meets these requirements, universities are combining and educating creativity and technology in parallel. Design sketches intend to enhance designers’ creativity, and to facilitate learning of expression by hand. Also with the development of IT, design sketches are imperative to improve our skills as the design expression means using 3D CAD. This study presents the creative basic industrial design course through the combination of sketches and CAD fitted to the convergence environment in the 21st century. Therefore, the process to expand the designer's thinking and to improve the completeness of the results through the education linking design sketches with systematic CAD focused on improving aesthetic creativity is presented. Firstly, the design sketch process is presented as lump thumbnail, expansion using 2D, understanding part and assemblies and final sketch rendering. And this study implements surveys through six questions for the 4 staged design sketch and six questions for the whole course. Participating students in the survey were 10 in 2nd year class, with 5 from 3rd year and 4th year, respectively in consideration of class schedule. For the four-stage questions, the scores are 4.27 out of 5. The overall survey scores is 4.22. The scores for the total of 12 questions is 4.24. As a result, it is confirmed that 2nd grades confront difficulties in idea sketch, learning through the fourth stage is very easy. Secondly, it is emphasized that lower grade students can verify and develop the idea progress for the first time in their life, by looking into the monitor and applying design sketch process to 3D CAD. Also, this study presents the industrial design courses using tables that help the lower grades to sufficiently supplement the differences in education and practice. Concurrently, the cases of improvement in instrument design and modeling to enhance the resulting performance are presented. It is verified through this study that parallel education process combining the design sketches and 3D CAD facilitates enhanced creativity, understanding design process and enhancing knowledge level to lower-grade students who are majoring in design. It has been confirmed that this process can sufficiently compensate for differences from education and practice.
