Platform work is a form that dramatically shows the trend of labor flexibility and externalization. The platform made it possible to save people significantly to reduce transaction costs and to work temporarily, whenever there was a job without hiring or fixed contracts. By classifying the types according to the role of the platform that organizes labor, they can be classified into call-type, management-type, mediation-type, display-type, and microtask platforms. Depending on these types, the way labor is organized varies, but platform labor has the following characteristics. First, the barriers to entry are removed, and the competition of workers that existed in theory is visualized in a real visible scene. Second, there is no direct direction or supervision of the labor process, but the platform controls the workers afterwards using automated algorithms based on data. Thirdly, depending on the platform system, unpaid working hours may occur, or working hours of living time may be permeated and the boundaries of working hours become unclear. Platform labor for these characteristics is difficult to apply the labor-related legal system. In a time when labor was flexible and externalized, it was necessary to reconstruct the basic concept of labor-related institutions.
