Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the level of knowledge, attitude and performance of infection control among nurses in long-term care facilities. Methods: Participants in this study were the nurses at 89 long-term care facilities in D and K areas. The number of subjects was 108, and the data were collected by using self-report questionnaires from April 12 to 26, 2017. T-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation coefficients were used to analyze the collected data. Results: The average scores of knowledge, attitude and performance of nurses were 13.04 out of 15 in knowledge, 4.87 out of 5 in attitude and 4.46 out of 5 in performance. There were significant positive correlations between knowledge and attitude as well as attitude and performance. Conclusion: Findings from this study provide valuable information regarding the level of knowledge, attitude and performance of infection control among nurses in long-term care facilities. Considering nurses play important roles in infection control. effective guidelines and nurse education programs for infection control need to be developed and implemented. These programs also need to be tailored and targeted to long-term care facilities.
