As the fuel consumption and restriction of the vehicle emission has been globally issued, the research and study for the eco-friendly vehicle is ongoing. However, it is still forecasted that the sales portion of the internal combustion engine in the vehicle market will be higher than the eco-friendly vehicle because of the insufficient manufacturing infra and the short driving distance of the eco-friendly vehicle. In order to enhance the fuel consumption and dynamic performance of the vehicle equipped with the internal combustion engine, the major vehicle manufacturing companies study on the 48V Mild Hybrid Vehicle. It is necessary to split the torque desired by driver in real time because the 48V Mild Hybrid Vehicle has the internal combustion engine and 48V electric motor. As one of the representative method for the optimized torque split function, the A-ECMS (Adaptive-Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy) is developed. However, there are limits which The SOC (State Of Charge) of the high voltage battery wouldn’t be managed in the specific driving condition if the equivalent factor is not optimized. In this study, the strategy to apply the A-ECMS (Adaptive-Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy) to the 48V Mild Hybrid Vehicle describes based on the simulation data of the engine and battery. The rule based torque split function and AECMS for the in the WLTP mode is compared to check the efficiency of the A-ECMS.
