This paper analyzes class demonstrations and mutual evaluations between teachers and non-teachers who had taken the “Japanese Subject Education Theory” Japanese language teaching class, and offers recommendations for class demonstrations based on the results of a survey of students’ perceptions. First, there was a strong recognition that mutual evaluation is necessary for teaching profession courses and useful for students’ development, and most gave positive feedback that the mutual assessment is necessary and useful in teaching profession classes. Additionally, there were many opinions that the class demonstrations by those in the teaching profession and by the non-students were useful for each other’s class demonstrations. In particular, an overwhelming majority of students who had completed their teaching training reported being able to see class demonstrations from a variety of perspectives, which was useful for their own classroom demonstrations. Investigation of the differential impact of class demonstrations showed that those who had completed teacher training pare accustomed to class demonstrations and can acquire the lesson structure, progression method, teaching skills, etc. There were many opinions that it was useful and that the class demonstrations by non-teaching students had many new approaches to composition, and some reported gaining new ideas. Finally, neither the teaching graduates nor the comparative profession students reported any discomfort, but rather recognized many strengths between them.
