There were 107 houses in Pungdeok(豊德) village under the great Han empire. Surname Lee dwelled 63 houses in village. They account for 58.9 percent of all residents. Surname Kim inhabited 13 houses(戶) and surname Jeong resided 5 houses. They dwelled 378 kans and the average of peasants' houses was 3.53 kans(間). The thatched house of two and three kans was 75 houses. House of ten kans was two houses.
According to yangan of Chungju under the great Han empire, there were total of 49.402 gyeol(結) of rice fields and dry fields in the Pungdeok village. The total of rice fields was 29.204 gyeol which was about 59.1 percent of land. The total of dry fields was 20.198 gyeol which was about 40.9 percent of land.
Surname Lee possessed 19.093 gyeol, they cultivated 20.736 gyeol in village. Among peasants of Pungdeok village, there were 37 peasants who possessed more than 1 gyeol in Chungju. Including Lee, Tae-ho, three farmers had more than 10 gyeol land in Chungju.
If we classify them by land ownership, wealthy farmers were 37 and middle farmers were 11 and small farmers were 12 and poor farmers were 40. If we combined property with cultivated land, wealthy farmers were much increased and poor farmers were much decreased. There were 16 rented farmers without having any land ownership in Chungju. They rented land to others more than 1 gyeol.
Most of the land owners in village managed their farms for themselves. Lee, Guk-yeong cultivated the 74.8 percent of his farms for himself, Lee Hui-seo did 76.4 percent and Lee Cheol-ho also did 66.4 percent. They were trying to upgrade their management by purchasing and managing land located near to each other inside a certain region.
