The purpose of this article is to examine the relation between thanatology and religious studies in contemporary Korea and, based on that examination, it tries to explore a new trend in religious studies. People generally trend to avoid talking about issues related to death. Perhaps this is because we are afraid of death. On the one hand, in vein well-being, well-ending become the center of public interest in korea society Well-ending culture modify attitudes on death in Korea. With the result that, thanatology and death education attract an academic attention in psychology, medical science, philosophy, the science of nursing, and anthropology.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows: Religious Studies make death an object of scientific study and must be discussed separately from theology. Thanatology, the scientific study of death, is the research of related with dying, death, and cure. In view of this, Thanatology and Religious studies have an common interests in study on death.
