Appearance of Computer has provoked a big change of animation techniques, and the interactive technology has become a center piece of contemporary media. However, the audience, who is accustomed to smooth storytelling of linear animation, is not satisfied with the recent attempts in animation due to the limitations that interactive storytelling, such as ‘branch storytelling’, has. This paper suggests to provide a guideline for interactive animation production through creating the story-based interactive animations focusing on narrative structure, analyzing the cases, and understanding the significance and audiences’ satisfaction. First, we created 15 interactive animations with Maya and Unity3D engine. Second, we analyzed the stories with the narrative"s element; Environment, Desire, Action, Consequence, and looked into how the authors add the interaction for the audiences" participation. Third, we achieved the significant result from the case studies by adapting the related research. Finally, the analysis of the narrative structure was used for searching semiotic meaning and it was certain that the easy fun from the traditional playing is related to the audiences" satisfaction by investigating of the interaction method in 15 interactive animations.
