According to Rosen (2010, 2011), children born in the early part of this millennium are known as the iGeneration, and this group of individuals has access to forms of technology unheard of just two decades ago. There have been also a large number of products released to the public in order to encourage physical activity and measure progress over the last ten years. Technologies have been developed at a very rapid pace with their use permeating into the education environment such as physical education. Using technology in physical education is therefore a textbook that teachers should consider as a starting point to integrate electronics into their physical education class. Though many parents and teachers think these technologies make their children tend to be a more sedentary, technologies influence physical education in a very positive way depending on the type of device and its applications. In this paper, three recent, specific and distinct technological products – mobile technologies and smartphone applications, smart sensors and simulation sports, are introduced and discussed.
