This study is about the current curriculum of teaching profession in college education. Especially it focuses on the subjects which are offered in department of Chinese language and literature. Firstly, it surveyed what kinds of subjects are offered and how colleges manage the courses. Ten universities in Seoul and local areas were objects of investigation. Secondly, it analyzed the current curriculums by comparing the goals of subjects, contents of lectures, teaching methods, and textbooks used in the lectures. It pointed out five problems as follows: 1. There is no consistent guideline for the curriculum of teaching profession in college education. 2. The goals and contents of lectures are very similar, and thus the characteristic of each subject is no differentiated. 3. Subjects are not closely related to each other, and therefore preceding courses cannot help the following courses. 4. The curriculums of subjects do not correspond to the course objectives. 5. The same textbook is used in different subjects very often, since there is no various textbooks in the current market. Lastly, this paper proposes not only a new design of the curriculum of teaching profession, but also a list of different content and a method of lecture for each subject. It also discusses how to offer an additional course to improve the qualities of teachers.
