This study explores how early childhood teachers contemplate reflexively on the meaning of creative education in perception on their creative education while taking a course on creativity and creative education. Thirteen early childhood teachers participated in the study, all of whom are bachelor``s degree course students at a local university in Gyeonggi-do. They submitted their weekly reflective journals while taking a course on creativity and creative education. The results of this study show the meaning of creative education as follows: (1) creativity course worked as a motivation to look back on teachers, (2) the teachers could escape from the stereotypical frame of the concept of creativity, (3) they could become aware of the complicated factors necessary for emergent creativity, and (4) they could become aware of the teachers’ influence on the creativity of the children. Since it was verified that the teachers’ creativity can be changed by education, teachers need to continuously reflect and put forth effort on their creative teaching behavior. It is further suggested that there should be more provisions for various teacher training programs for the teacher candidates to promote children’s creativity.
