This study aims to understand the experiences and perceptions of childcare teachers related to mandatory CCTV installation from an educational community perspective. Sixteen teachers working in four daycare centers in City B and City C participated in the study and data was collected through focus group interviews. The data were transcribed and analyzed qualitatively. As a result of the study, the teachers recognized that the process of CCTV installation was a phenomenon of power and alienation informing the prelude to the cracking of the educational community. The teachers facing the cracks of the educational community also showed negative emotions by recognizing the gaze of surveillance and self-defense for coping with them. Eventually, these experiences and perceptions affected the relationships between members negatively and threatened the educational community establishment. Nevertheless, teachers tried to restore relations with members and sought alternative use of CCTV based on empathy, respect and communication in order to rebuild the educational community. This study discussed the implications for establishing the professionalism of childcare and building warm early childhood educational communities.
