This study aims to examine perceptions of the early childhood educational community and images of a ‘warm’ educational community of early childhood pre-service teachers. Subjects consisted of 243 students majoring in early childhood education in 2-3 year course colleges and 4 year course universities. The results of this study are as follows: First, early childhood pre-service teachers showed above average perception of the early childhood educational community. Second, university pre-service teachers who have no teaching experience tend to have higher perception than teaching experienced college ones. Third, pre-service teachers who think that all members should be agents for building an educational community showed higher perception than those who think of each member as an agent. Fourth, pre-service teachers who rated the characteristics of community which the early childhood care and education institutions revealed lower perception than those who rated middle and high. Last, pre-service teachers have images of ‘warm’ educational community as ‘communicative’, ‘valuable’, ‘considerate’, ‘amiable’, ‘come together’, ‘life respectful’, ‘positive’, ‘harmonious’, and ‘equitable’. Implications for improvement of perceptions of early childhood pre-service teachers, contents of pre-service teacher training program for building a ‘warm’ educational community are discussed.
