The purpose of this study was to investigate whether Jeong towards members of the educational community and recognition of the scope of members had a mediating effect on the relationship between the relationship-orientation of parents with young children and the sense of community of early childhood education institutions. For this, data were collected using a questionnaire measuring four variables from 258 parents of children aged 2-6 who live in three cities sending their children to early childhood education institutions. To analyze the data, correlation analysis using SPSS 21.0 and parallel mediating effect analysis using Hayes’ Process macro were performed. As a result of the study, first of all, there was a positive correlation between parental relationship-orientation, Jeong towards members of the educational community, recognition of the scope of members, and sense of community. Next, parental relationship-orientation had a significant effect on the sense of community of early childhood education institutions through each of the Jeong towards members of the educational community and recognition of the scope of members. There was a significant difference between the mediating effects of the two mediating variables, and the mediating effect for Jeong towards members was greater. Based on these results, at a time when there is a high demand for the realization of an early childhood education community, implications for the practical plan of the educational field to enhance parents' sense of community were discussed.
