Methodical Analyses of Asian Folk Songs: Searching for Practical Use in Multicultural Music LessonsDae Chang JuNowadays, music education in public schools is carried out into effect under various viewpoints. Musical multiculturalism is taken into consideration to find a way how music classes can reach their goal. The national curriculum indicates multicultural music for music class in public schools so as to improve the quality of life and realize education for the whole man.Viewed from this angle, it is important to choose impartially folk songs as teaching materials in music class. And great attention has been shown to the question of teaching method how to introduce multicultural music items. The purpose of this study is to highlight teaching aspects of dealing with folks songs from different countries. Music teachers can organize multicultural lesson materials according to musical structure. In this case, analytic thinking makes an appearance and to provide an efficient lesson process. This paper thus attempts to outline methodical models of shaping structural characteristics for instance of three folks song form Asian continent.The three tunes from different countries have commonness and peculiarities in meter and rhythm, melody, and form. The distinctive features of them are compared with one another, and then with Korean folk songs which are well known to most students in class room. In this way, they can take part in musical activities in order to understand characteristics of the various folk songs.
