Recently, the number of ROK female officers are largely growing. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of ROK female officers' work-family conflict on turnover intention by focusing on their work-family conflict which are difficulties in harmonizing work life and family life, one of the main reasons why they quit their jobs. A survey field study was conducted using a sample of 239 Korean female officers serving in the army, navy, and air force. The processes through which job satisfaction and organizational commitment mediates relationships of work interference with family (WIF) and family interference with work (FIW) with turnover intention are also analyzed. The structural equation model yielded results showing that only WIF positively affects turnover intention directly. While WIF has no influence on job satisfaction and organization commitment, FIW negatively affects only job satisfaction. Job satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between FIW and turnover intention. Implications and limitations are discussed.
